Razor SX350 Dirt Rocket McGrath Electric Bike

Now, if your kid is just getting started in dirt biking (2-7 years) old and you’re not sure if they will like it or not, I HIGHLY recommend that you go with the Razor SX350 electric bike.

WHY?

The Razor SX350 is an affordable and but reliable electric bike.

This way, if your child doesn’t like electric dirt biking, you won’t be as upset as if you didn’t spend your kid’s college fund on an electric dirt bike.

Razor SX350 Compares with the following 50cc dirt bikes

  • Yamaha PW50
  • Honda CRF50
  • Yamaha TTR50

My kids started out on the electric Razor SX350 bike and rode it almost every day.

This allowed them to quickly and safely understand throttle control.

My kids could ride the bike without anyone helping them start the electric bike (this is good and bad).

Also, if they ever tipped the electric bike over, it didn’t burn them, and the bike weighs under 50lbs so they can pick it up.

The 50cc gas powered dirt bikes weigh 100-120 pounds.

The Razor electric bikes are great around the neighborhood but not really set up as real off-road electric bikes.

Now…

The Razor electric bikes do have a couple of downsides

Razor doesn’t allow you to adjust the speed settings. The Razor 350 bikes don’t rip your arms off when you roll the throttle back, but they can go almost 15 MPH.

Also, the Razor SX350 doesn’t have working front forks.

What does that mean?

Razor chose not to put a working suspension on the SX350 electric dirt bike.

It’s not a big deal but riding it offroad makes it bumpy. The bigger Razor electric bikes come with front fork suspension.

The good things about the Razor SX350

  • Speeds up to 14mph
  • Hand-operated rear brake
  • Large pneumatic knobby tires
  • Adjustable riser handlebars
  • Kickstand
  • Weighs 56 lbs

MotoTec 36v Pro Electric Bike

The MotoTec 36v is a step-up from the Razor bikes. The MotoTec comes with full suspension, and disc brakes, and you can adjust the speed.

This MotoTec Pro electric bike is more like the 50cc gas powered dirt bike.

MotoTec 36v Pro compares with the following 50cc bikes

  • Honda CRF50
  • Yamaha TTR50
  • KTM 50SX Mini
  • Cobra CX50 P3

If you want your kid to ride more dirt and less pavement, the MotoTec Pro bike is better suited for dirt than the above-mentioned Razor bikes.

Having a full suspension really makes a big difference when riding bikes off-road.

The MotoTec 36v bike weighs around 80 lbs, so it’s heavier than the smaller Razor bikes but comes with more goodies to improve the riding experience.

MotoTec has a 36 Volt 10Ah Li-Ion battery to get the dirt bike moving.

They say that the battery will last for 9 miles.

As a parent, the ability to adjust the power and speed on the bike is a feature worth mentioning.

You can adjust the speed from 5 mph to 18 mph.

You want to make sure that your child is safe and riding at a comfortable skill level. Being able to adjust the speed helps them feel safer and ultimately have more fun.

The good things about the MotoTec Pro bike

  • Li-Ion battery
  • 36 Volt 1000 Watt motor
  • Full suspension,
  • Adjustable power/speed
  • Disc brakes
  • Key Start
  • Battery Meter
  • Weighs 80 lbs

Beta MINICROSS E

As you can see from the picture of the BETA Minicross E we are getting into the more serious kids electric bikes.

The Beta Minicross is more comparable to the KTM 50 SX when it comes to seat height, suspension, and frame geometry.

BETA Minicross electric dirt bike compares with the following 50cc bikes

  • KTM 50SX
  • Cobra CX50 SR
  • Husqvarna TC 50

Beta made the Minicross E for those who want to spend time on a kids’ motocross track.

The Beta MiniCross E is perfect for your backyard dirt bike track.

You will also have not any problems trail riding it either.

The Minicross E comes with full suspension, and disc brakes.

Beta makes quality dirt bikes and would expect the same quality to be built into the Beta Minicross.

The run time on the Beta Minicross is around an hour but that depends on how the bike is ridden.

The Beta Minicross is priced more like the Honda CRF50 but as far as performance is closely related to the much more expensive KTM 50 SX.

The Beta Minicross E is a bike that I would pick for my kids as the Beta Minicross E has the suspension, run time, and great price point.

I do wish the Beta Minicross had a Lithium-Ion battery instead of a lead-acid battery.

The good things about the Beta Minicross electric dirt bike

  • 750 Watt 36-volt motor
  • Premium Full Suspension
  • Lead Acid Battery
  • Disc brakes
  • 1 hour run time
  • Weighs 94 lbs

OSET says that the MX-10 is the perfect beginner’s dirt bike.

With the 3-speed adjustability, the 400W 48V OSET motor is perfect for motocross or single track.

Oset bikes are built with quality parts and components.

You can adjust the seat height, motor, and suspension settings. The front fork on the OSET MX 10 is a quality premium air fork.

The full-suspension on the MX-10 will make sure that your kid is comfortable and confident in the dirt.

OSET MX-10 boosts a 2-3 hour run time with the OSET 20ah lithium battery which was designed for the OSET MX 10 bike.

This is a quality made electric dirt bike from OSET, however, it is more expensive than the above mentioned electric bikes.

I do wish that OSET made a bigger version of the OSET MX-10

The good things about the OSET MX-10 electric dirt bike

  • 400W 48V OSET motor
  • Premium Full suspension
  • Lithium-Ion Battery
  • Disc brakes
  • Adjustable seat height
  • Adjustable power, speed, and throttle
  • Adjustable suspension
  • 2-3 hour run time
  • Weighs 82 lbs

  • KTM 50SX
  • KTM 65 SX
  • Cobra CX50 FWE
  • Husqvarna TC 50
  • Husqvarna TC 65

The 48 V BLDC motor with the outer rotor really puts the power to the ground. KTM claims that the SX-E 5 has the same peak power as the KTM 50 SX gas-powered bike.

KTM SX-E 5 / Husqvarna EE 5 rated power output

  • 2kW 3200 RPM
  • 5 kW 3900 RPM – Max output

Along with the great power, you have a Lithium-Ion 21 ah battery that keeps the bike-powered.

Everything on the KTM SX-E 5 is designed to keep the dust, mud, and water out.

The KTM SX-E 5 frame, suspension, rims, brakes, is built for the abuse of professional racing.
